Make Some Bubbly!

Sometimes I wake up on the wrong side of the bed. After a long, stressful week with very few hours of sleep, Saturday morning did not start off well. Everything that came out of my mouth was bitter or sarcastic, even when I didn't mean for it to be. And being the only child that I am, all of my venom was directed to my poor mother. So naturally, I had to make it up to her in full.

I'm very impressed with my idea, and maybe you can use it for a good Mother's Day surprise treat.

After vacumming and dusting my parents' room, I proceeded to clean their bathroom and draw her a warm bath. But this, of course, was not enough. So I found this recipe online for homemade bubble bath--I've been into homemade items like this: lip gloss, head bands, face masks, etc. While it doesn't look beautiful, it makes your skin feel very good and did just the trick. In the words of Sylvia Plath, "I'm sure there are many things that a good bath can't cure, but I can't think of one."

It's quite an easy recipe:

  • 1/2 cup body soap (I used Aveeno since it's not strong scented, and it's supposed to be good for skin)
  • 5 teaspoons honey
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • a little water
Mix all this together, pour it into your warm bath, put on some relaxing piano music (Maxence Cyrin is my favorite), and enjoy!
